Salmon Patties

Salmon Patties also known as salmon croquettes is a wonderful dish to serve for breakfast or dinner. Serve with eggs, grits or tomatoes to bring the flavors out.



EQUIPMENT

  • 1 Cast iron or non-stick frying pan
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Fork

INGREDIENTS  

  • 1 16 oz can Pink Salmon
  • 1/2 cup Mashed Potatoes I use processed flaked boxed mashed potatoes.
  • 1/2 cup Bell Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Seasoning Mix I use Morton's Natures Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Onion I use a sweet vidalia onion
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp oil I use vegetable oil

 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Open 1 can of Pink salmon and drain the mixture.
  • Pick apart the salmon and make sure you remove the round bones
  • Add 2 tbsp. water to the mashed potato flakes. Use more if needed. Add to salmon
  • Dice onions and add to salmon mixture
  • Dice the bell pepper and add to your recipe.
  • Add seasoning.
  • Add the egg.
  • Heat the pan on Medium high and add the oil
  • Form the mixture into a round patties, about 1/2 a cup. The round pattie should fit in the palm of your hand.
  • Place the pattie into the frying pan and cook until it is a caramel brown color on both sides.
  • Serve with eggs and grits for breakfast or with tomatoes for dinner.
